New Orleans New Year's Eve Fireworks

New Year’s Eve fireworks booming over the Mississippi River in New Orleans.

Riverboat Fireworks Cruises

There’s no better way to experience the dazzling fireworks show over the Mississippi River than to be on the river yourself! Both the Steamboat Natchez and Creole Queen will be operating from the docks of New Orleans before, during, and shortly after the fireworks celebrations.

Dress in your holiday best and enjoy scrumptious hors d’oeuvres, open bar, champagne toast, and a DJ. Not to mention the breathtaking city views. It’s the ultimate New Year’s in New Orleans celebration.

Jax Brewery Fleur-De-Lis Drop

New York may have their regular ol’ ball drop, but New Orleans likes to put a funky twist on things by providing a 25-foot fleur-de-lis drop on the roof of Jax Brewery. The annual party at Jax Brewery is always a sell-out crowd favorite, featuring live music, aerial artists and more.

This year the celebration gets a special spotlight, as New Orleans will be featured for the first time ever in Dick Clark’s Rockin’ New Year’s Eve Live Broadcast. The live remove televised segments will include this fleur-de-lis drop and fireworks over the Mississippi River.

After the show, follow the crowds to Bourbon Street and keep the party going long after midnight.

Live Music & Entertainment

Ring in 2017 at some of the French Quarter’s best music venues. One Eyed Jacks will party it up with a retro feel with Squirrel Nut Zippers taking the stage on New Year’s Eve, while House of Blues offers multiple ways to party. Local favorite Shamarr Allen headlines a high energy night of music in the Foundation Room while the Bad Girls of Burlesque strut their stuff on the main stage with an early and a late show.

Allstate Sugar Bowl

College football fans are drawn to New Orleans each year for the annual Allstate Sugar Bowl, held each New Year’s weekend. Held on January 2, 2017, the Auburn Tigers will face off against the Oklahoma Sooners at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome, but not before the fans get plenty of time to party. The Allstate Fan Fest is a free celebration that will be featured in the Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve television coverage. This event features pep rallies, football-themed activities and a free concert.
