Spring is in the air here in New Orleans, and the warmer temperatures set the perfect mood for indulging in some Tiki cocktails and Polynesian inspired cuisine at Latitude 29.
While it’s always hard to choose a favorite among a menu with so many delicious choices, some of our chef’s creations lend themselves perfectly to spring. Here are a few items we’re looking forward to eating this time of year:
For the seafood lovers…
Start with an order of Latitude 29’s delicious Shrimps in Blankets, featuring 2 large shrimps with heads on, won-ton-wrapped, and cushioned in miso cream cheese and glass noodles.
Fill up on Sambal Shrimp and Grits with savory pork gravy and sweet bacon jam, or indulge in traditional Asian comfort food with a Seafood Pancake with Mentaiko (fish roe) and mayo dressing, spicy slaw, and a deep fried soft-shell crab topper.
For vegetarians…
Latitude 29 is proud to serve many vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free dining options, including a mouth-watering Green Curry, with charred cauliflower dusted with sumac, chickpeas, carrots, mushrooms, and sweet potato’d rice. The Green Curry is both vegan and gluten-free.
If you’re looking for something to snack on while you drink, the curry seasoned Taro Chips, served with sides of Kimchi Ketchup & Sriracha Mayo, are a wonderful vegetarian choice.
For the carnivores…
Meat lovers will enjoy the Loco Moco, an eight-ounce beef patty, with shiitake mushroom and soy sauce glacé, which is served with coconut rice and topped with a fried egg.
It wouldn’t be a tiki bar without Polynesian inspired pork dishes though, and here you can order a delectable quarter rack of cross-cut sweet and savory Pork Ribs. You’ll also enjoy our Hawaiian Cuban Sandwich, served on Latitude 29’s signature pineapple bread and stacked full of pulled pork, ham, Creole mustard, and cream cheese, with your choice of side.
For the cocktail curious…
It’s not a proper visit to Latitude 29 without a sip from one of our signature tiki cocktails. Our extensive menu has libations to suit every taste bud, including delicious mocktails for the non-alcohol drinkers.
The Pontchartrain Pearl Diver is a fan favorite “iced buttered rum” concoction, featuring a honey-butter-spice mix blended with passion fruit, lime and Jamaica rum.
Looking for a little extra energy? Try the Espresso Bongo, with coffee syrup, Gold Jamaican rum, pineapple, passion fruit, orange, and lime.
Our namesake drink, the Latitude 29 offers up a tasty blend of eight-year Demerara rum, passion fruit purée, our own Madagascar vanilla syrup, orange, pineapple, and lemon. We’ll cheers to that!
