For those of you getting into town the night before Jazz Fest starts, head to our sister property, Hotel Monteleone, to hear Antoine Diel Jazz Quartet play from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., followed by Nayo Jones Experience from 8:30 p.m. – 12:30 a.m. Their performances are part of Hotel Monteleone’s Jazzy Jam concert series, which offers free live music at The Carousel Bar & Lounge each night after the festival.

Friday after the fest features a bevy of shows around town, including Gov’t Mule with Soulive at the Saenger Theatre and Nathaniel Rateliff and the Night Sweats at the Sugar Mill.
Local favorites Kermit Ruffins, Bonerama, and Tab Benoit will perform live at Rock n’ Bowl, or check out the “New Orleans Songbird” Robin Barnes, who will be performing at Hotel Monteleone from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., followed by Tom Hook & Band from 9:00 p.m. – 1:00 a.m.

You won’t be at a loss for things to do on Saturday night after Jazz Fest. Trombone Shorty’s Third Annual Treme Threauxdown takes place at the Saenger Theatre, or head to Tipitina’s to see Galactic or the Orpheum Theater to watch The Meters perform.
Cowboy Mouth will be on stage in our French Quarter neighborhood at Le Petit Theatre du Vieux Carre, or listen to Luther Kent & His Jazz Band at The Carousel Bar & Lounge from 9:00 p.m. – 1:00 a.m.

As you wind down from the first festival weekend, check out Hot 8 Brass Band at Howlin’ Wolf or The Wailers at the Civic Theater. You can also cool off with Nayo Jones Experience at The Carousel Bar from 8:00 p.m. – 12:00 a.m. or take in Lettuce followed by The Motet at Tipitina’s.

There are no official Jazz Fest shows on the Wednesday between festival weekends, but there is still plenty to see and do, including a few great free shows. The free Wednesday at the Square concert series features Kermit Ruffins and The Barbeque Swingers with co-headliner Marcia Ball Band, and the free Jazzy Jam show at Hotel Monteleone features James Rivers Movement performing from 8:30 p.m. – 12:30 a.m. that evening.
Also on Wednesday, the Pixies will take the stage at the Saenger Theatre, while The New Pornographers and Waxahatchee perform at Tipitina’s.

You can catch the Revivalists at the Orpheum Theater on Thursday night, or visit the Music Box Village to see Mike Dillon’s Punk Rock Consortium. On Friday after the fest, Hurray for the Riff Raff perform along with Leyla McCalla and Ron Gallo at the Civic Theater. The Funky Meters will hit the stage at Tipitina’s, while Kamasi Washington performs two shows at One Eyed Jacks.
Relax in style all night long at The Carousel Bar as the Jazzy Jam music series continues with Robin Barnes & Her Jazz Trio, beginning at 5:00 p.m. followed by Lena Prima & Band from 9:00 p.m. – 1:00 a.m.

There is plenty to choose from on Saturday, May 6, including Big Freedia, Soul Rebels, and Tank and the Bangas at Republic. Galactic performs at the Orpheum Theater, while Future with Kodak Black takes the stage at Champions Square.
